- PottyGo stores the information you enter — your household, your child’s profile, and your potty logs — securely in the cloud so your whole caregiving team can share one timeline.
- Only people you invite can see your family’s data. You choose their role, and you can remove them.
- We don’t show ads, we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
- You can edit or delete your logs anytime, and delete your entire account and its data whenever you want.

Who we are
PottyGo (“PottyGo,” “we,” “us”) is a potty-training tracker for caregivers, provided by Carl Cutler. This policy explains what information PottyGo collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the PottyGo app on the web (pottygoapp.com) and iOS.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password, or — if you choose “Sign in with Google” — the name and email address Google shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form; we never see your plain-text password.
- Household and caregivers. Your household name, the caregivers you invite, their roles (owner, parent, co-parent, or caregiver), and the email addresses you enter to send invitations.
- Child profile. The child’s first name or nickname, an optional birthdate, and a training stage. You decide what to enter — a nickname works fine.
- Potty logs. The events you record — a win, attempt, accident, or dry check — along with the time, and optional details such as location, result, what your child was wearing, and any note you add.
- Reminder settings. Your schedule windows, intervals, snooze preferences, and whether you’ve turned notifications on for your device.
Some of this — a child’s toileting history and related notes — is sensitive information about a child. We treat it that way, and it’s the reason access is locked down to the people you invite (see “How your data is shared”).
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data. Like any online service, our hosting and infrastructure providers process limited technical information — such as your IP address and standard server logs — to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
- On your device. We store your login session and a copy of your reminder settings locally on your device so the app loads quickly and reminders work reliably. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
- No advertising or analytics trackers. PottyGo does not include advertising SDKs, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools to profile you.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: save your logs, sync them across your caregiving team in real time, and show your history and trends.
- To send the potty reminders you set up.
- To manage your account, sign-ins, invitations, and household roles.
- To keep PottyGo secure, prevent abuse, fix problems, and improve reliability.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
We do not use your logs or your child’s information to serve advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
How your data is shared
With your caregiving team
PottyGo is built for shared caregiving. The people you invite to your household can see your child’s profile, the shared timeline, and reminder schedule, and can add their own logs. Every entry shows who recorded it. Access is invite-only and role-based, enforced at the database level, and you can remove a caregiver’s access at any time.
With service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run PottyGo. They process data only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and secure data hosting.
- Google — only if you choose “Sign in with Google,” to verify your identity.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the PottyGo website.
- Apple — distribution of the iOS app (including TestFlight during the beta) and standard operating-system services on your device.
For legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or PottyGo — for example, in response to a valid legal request.
If the business changes hands
If PottyGo is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We’ll notify you and honor the commitments in this policy.
Where your data is stored and how we protect it
Your data is stored in the cloud with our hosting provider, in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security so each household can only reach its own records, and sign-in uses secure, industry-standard authentication. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
How long we keep your data
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your household, child profiles, logs, and related data from our active systems right away. Residual copies may remain in our hosting provider’s encrypted backups for a limited period (up to 30 days) before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete logs anytime, directly in the app.
- Manage your team — invite or remove caregivers, and set what each person can do.
- Turn reminders on or off, per device, in Settings.
- Delete your account and its associated data from within the app.
- Reset your password or change your sign-in details.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have additional rights — to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at support@pottygoapp.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children’s privacy
PottyGo is intended for use by parents and adult caregivers — not by children. Accounts are for adults, and the information about a child in the app is entered by the caregiver responsible for that child, not collected from the child directly. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information directly from a child. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll address it.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, PottyGo schedules notifications locally on your device. On the web, reminders appear as in-app banners. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings at any time.
International users
PottyGo is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed there and in the region where our hosting provider stores data. By using PottyGo, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in locations with different data-protection laws than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PottyGo evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Some future features — such as optional insights built on anonymized, aggregated data — would require their own clear, opt-in explanation before they launch.
